Mental Health Specialist

Introduction

Creation

Now is the time to take all that you have learned and create! Use any of the applications listed below to create content based on the topic listed below. Groups work is ok but must be able to demonstrate multiple group members worth of work. Submit a screenshot of your work to the Passport for this class. You will have to select “Retry Submission.” This is due by the start of our next exam and is worth the second half of your passport points for the seminar.

You are a community health nurse working in an urban city center. There has been an increase in the number of people who are reporting symptoms of mental illness over the past five years. You are working with a young African American male client who was referred by their school counselor. The client states, “I want to try and help my depression but there is no way that I can take medications. My job doesn’t have any medical benefits and I can barely make rent.” Create any type of project that illustrates nursing considerations for primary, secondary or tertiary prevention interventions.
