Brandon Dominguez is a Registered Nurse with expertise in mental health nursing with inpatient and outpatient levels of care including clinical, administrative and research nursing. Currently, Brandon teaches mental health nursing concepts in LVN, ADN, and BSN levels of pre-licensure nursing. Some of Brandon’s previous employers include Loma Linda University, Riverside University Health System, and Anthem Inc and has guest lectured at Hertford College in Oxford University.

In addition to his teaching and clinical experience, Brandon is the host of the West Coast University Journal of Health and Wellness podcast, where he interviews healthcare professionals and researchers on topics advancing the field of health and wellness. Brandon has authored a Nursing Study Workbook for undergraduates and it is available via Apple’s Books App. He has also co-authored a modern mental health resource product, Engage Mental Health, published by Assessment Technologies Institute. Other works by Brandon that are published by ATI include podcasts, simulations, and Next Generation NCLEX practice questions.

Brandon’s latest authored work is "The Golden State Nurse Assistant: Mastering CNA Certification in California," a comprehensive textbook designed specifically to meet the California Department of Public Health’s requirements for Certified Nursing Assistant certification. This innovative e-book integrates a variety of multimedia educational resources, including narrated podcasts, animated scenarios, online practice tests, and interactive activities, to cater to the diverse learning styles of today's students. This work reflects Brandon’s dedication to creating resources that not only meet educational standards but also engage and inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals.

International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare 2024

Brandon Dominguez has made significant contributions to the field of nursing education, marked by his active participation in both international and national academic conferences. Notably, he was a speaker at The International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare in 2024, where he presented on "Enhancing Clinical Judgment in Nursing Students through Deliberate Practice and Virtual Reality Simulation," highlighting his innovative approach to integrating technology in nursing education. His expertise and dedication to advancing nursing practice and education were also evident in his presentations and posters at several prestigious conferences, including the American Association of Colleges of Nursing Annual Convention, the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing Convention, and the West Coast University Annual Health Summit, among others. Through these engagements, Brandon shared valuable insights on a range of topics from managing stress for healthcare professionals to the impact of motivational interviewing in nursing, demonstrating his role as a thought leader and advocate for educational innovation and student support in the nursing sector.

Brandon earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice from Grand Canyon University, an MSN in Nursing Education and BSN from Western Governors University, and an ADN from Riverside City College. His doctoral studies emphasized on improving mental health hospital readmissions via motivational interviewing education. His innovation in healthcare education is further evidenced by his qualifications as a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator and a certified Apple Learning Coach. Brandon was one of few nurses selected nationwide to participate in AACNs Digital Innovator Academy in partnership with Apple.
